Embarrassing testimony in the federal investigations into State Senator Vince Fumo today, as the president of Verizon admitted to striking a "gentleman's agreement" that Fumo would stop trying to break up the corporate megalith if it would send some legal business in the direction of his allies. Smooth. (A parallel is made with the alleged shake-down of PECO for his favorite charity during regulation hearings.) More on the stories here.
